Ideation

You are in this stage when one or more of these conditions exist:

  • You have an idea to launch a business, but it has not been proven.

  • You have researched your idea to the extent that you believe it can be a viable business but are not sure how to start.

  • You have limited or no business management or ownership experience.

  • You may or may not have access to adequate funding to launch the business.

Startup

You are in this stage when one or more of these conditions exist:

  • You have launched the business, either minimally or are in full operating mode.

  • You may have already legally organized the business as a sole proprietor, LLC, corporation, non-profit, etc.

  • You may have made early, initial sales.

  • You may be working alone as a solopreneur or have a small founder’s team in place.

  • You may be funding the business by bootstrapping or have outside investors.
